Bates & Brown Barber Chair, a modernized barbershop, opened at the end of 2016. Located at 5033 Olentangy River Road in the small plaza next to Micro Center on Bethel Road, the shop offers an old-fashion haircut experience for gentlemen. Upon entering the wood-and-leather-clad building, customers realize right away this is a unique experience. From the manly candles burning and the cocktails offered and the fireplace roaring, the space feels more like a lounge than a barber shop. Frank Sinatra crooning over the radio rounds out the perfect old-fashion-meets-modern setting.

Employed by Bates & Brown are licensed cosmetologists and barbers, and guests have the option to choose which they would prefer tend to their hair’s needs. With experience spanning from five to thirty years, guests can rest assured no matter who cuts their hair and trims their beard, they will be satisfied with the results.

In addition to traditional haircuts, Bates & Brown also offers eyebrow grooming, beard and mustache grooming, and straight razor shaves. They also have a licensed Massage Therapist on staff to complete the pampering experience.

Jessica Broadwater, manager of Bates & Brown Barber Chair, invites guests to stop in and check out the shop. Dads are encouraged to bring their kids with them, and women’s massages are also offered. The lounge-like atmosphere creates a relaxed and up-scale space that is welcoming and comfortable.
