Rumors of a Shake Shack heading for the Graduate Hotel at 750 N. High St. have been confirmed.

The company sent an application to the Italian Village Area Commission to install signage, including a “Shake Shack” sign and a halo-lit “Burger Logo” sign. The commission will address the application at their meeting on Tuesday, April 9.

Shake Shack at the Graduate would make the company’s second location in the Columbus area. Last June, they announced plans to open their first central Ohio location at Easton Town Center, taking over the Tesla store front at 4005 The Strand W. It was initially slated to open in early 2019, but an opening date has yet to be announced.

Shake Shack originated in New York City as a cart inside Madison Square Park. Founded in 2004, it’s since expanded to 200 locations nationally and internationally. There are two other locations in Ohio, one in Cleveland and one in Pinecrest.
