Calling all college and graduate students! The Columbus Foundation is seeking college and graduate students with interest in the nonprofit sector, offering a 10-week, paid fellowship to build work experience and develop skills for a future nonprofit career through its Summer Fellowship Program. The program, now in its ninth year, will match eligible students with 14 Franklin County nonprofits.Ā (View the organizations and specific projects.)
āBolstering the nonprofit talent pipeline is key to the sustainability of effective nonprofits in our community,ā said Mark Lomax II, D.M.A., Community Research and Grants Management Officer at The Columbus Foundation, and leader of the Foundationās Fellowship Programs. āThe Summer Fellowship program simultaneously invests in the development of young nonprofit leaders, while supporting the current needs of nonprofits.ā
The deadline to submit a student application online isĀ Friday, December 14, 2018. To qualify forĀ a Fellowship, applicants must be a college junior, senior, May/June 2019 graduate or graduate student in the fall of 2019, and
(1)Ā Ā a Franklin County high school graduate,Ā or
(2)Ā Ā pursuing a degree at a Franklin County college or university.
Selected students will be placed with a nonprofit for the length of the Fellowship Program, fromĀ June 3-August 9, 2018. Highly desired qualifications for Fellows include a strong academic record (preferably a 3.0+ GPA) and strong verbal and written communications skills.
