Secret Studio Plans Outdoor Cinema This Summer

“I suppose the 2021 theme is ‘Amy-and-Keith-love-these-movies-please-come-watch-them-with-us,’ says Amy Turn Sharp, who owns Secret Studio with Keith Hanlon. She and Hanlon decided to host an outdoor movie night with dates in July and August.

Secret Studio opened last year and has held small COVID-aware gatherings and art openings. The movie nights will also be socially distanced.

For the new movies series, Turn Sharp and Hanlon chose movies based on what the two of them love to see.

“We both love film and miss going to the movies,” says Turn Sharp. “We are excited to get more people into Franklinton for the evening so they can have dinner and drinks, check out the art at Secret Studio, and see a free movie with us.”

The movies that will be shown as part of Secret Studio’s Summer Cinema:

July 17: Historical fantasy film The Seventh Seal

August 7: Romantic fantasy film Wings of Desire

August 21: Stop Making Sense, a great concert film centered on the rock band Talking Heads

Movies will begin around 8pm and guests are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, picnics, and drinks.
