Sawyer Towers & Lincoln Park May Be Renovated

The Dispatch reported on Wednesday that Massachusettes-based VVT Management has put in a bid to buy both of the Sawyer Towers and Lincoln Park properties from the Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority for a total of $4.2 million. According to VVT Management’s website they “specialize in the acquisition, revitalization and management of undervalued and distressed real estate.” These two former Section 8 housing sites were formerly scheduled for demolition, but in April CMHA announced that they would first put them on the market to see if the could be sold to a private company for renovation. Combined, the two sites have over 700 apartment units. The Dipatch has another feature today discussing the ongoing plans to relocated former Section 8 renters into the private market.
