Rookie Boone Jenner Suits Up for Blue Jackets Season Debut
What were you doing at the age of 20 years old? You were probably in school frequently attending dollar beer night or had an entry-level job that you weren’t crazy about. Boone Jenner’s life is just a tad bit different.
Jenner, a 20 year old from London, Ontario (near Toronto) was the 37th pick in the 2011 NHL draft for the Blue Jackets. He was one of two rookies to make Columbus’ roster for the 2013 season.
Not only did Jenner make the squad, he performed so well in the preseason and training camp that the Jackets decided to put him on the top line with the likes of three time NHL all-star Marian Gaborik.
The Blue Jackets open the season on Friday, October 4th against the Calgary Flames. Jenner has so many family and friend coming to his NHL debut in Columbus that he couldn’t even name everyone who will be making the trek to Nationwide Arena.
In an exclusive interview with Columbus Underground, Jenner talked about the excitement of playing in the NHL and his life thus far in the city of Columbus.
