The List: 11 New Rooftop Patios to Check Out in Columbus

Just a few short years ago, finding a rooftop patio was practically unheard of in Columbus. In fact, you could likely count the existing ones up just using one hand.

Thankfully, that trend is rapidly changing with the launch of over a dozen new rooftop patio decks in 2017 and 2018 and beyond. Below, you’ll find a dozen new rooftop bar patios and rooftop restaurant patios that have either opened recently, or are slated to open over the course of the next year or two.

    Vaso

Ok, this one is technically in the suburb of Dublin and not in Columbus proper, but we feel that it warrants a special mention because of its uniqueness in concept and unmatched view at Bridge Park. Perched atop the AC Hotel, Vaso features an eighth-floor dining and entertainment space that overlooks the Scioto River. Find more information at www.vasodublin.com.

One of the biggest upcoming changes to the Columbus skyline is the North Market Tower, a 35-story mixed-use development that will replace the North Market parking lot once completed. In addition to new retail, apartments, condos and offices, the building is slated to feature multiple tiers of patio space overlooking Downtown, although firm details on use have not yet been announced. Juniper

Juniper, a bar and dining space atop the Smith Brothers Hardware building, opened in late 2017 and features a Downtown skyline view and all of the modern amenities of a brand new event facility. The bar and restaurant is open to the public on weeknights with some special private event functions on weekends, so check to make sure it’s open before you go. Bollinger Tower

The 33-year-old Bollinger Tower was sold off in 2016 for redevelopment, and plans call for its renovation into a new hotel facility. Included in that development would be new ground-floor amenities that feature a second-level patio, likely tied into a restaurant concept that would service the hotel and the public.
