The List: 11 New Rooftop Patios to Check Out in Columbus

Just a few short years ago, finding a rooftop patio was practically unheard of in Columbus. In fact, you could likely count the existing ones up just using one hand.

Thankfully, that trend is rapidly changing with the launch of over a dozen new rooftop patio decks in 2017 and 2018 and beyond. Below, you’ll find a dozen new rooftop bar patios and rooftop restaurant patios that have either opened recently, or are slated to open over the course of the next year or two.

A new nine-story office building is currently under construction at 711 N. High St. in the Short North. In addition to all of the office space the building will bring to the neighborhood, it will also feature a Cameron Mitchell operated restaurant and bar (concept TBA) that will be housed on the ground floor and up top on the rooftop deck. When Platform Beer Co. expanded from Cleveland to Columbus in December of 2016, they weren’t quite ready to launch their outdoor spaces in the middle of winter. That changed just a few months later, and the Downtown brewpub opened up both a ground-floor patio and a rooftop deck that has a surprisingly stellar view of the skyline. The old Haiku spot at 800 N. High St. is expected to begin transforming soon, and will be replaced by a new 10-story mixed-use building that will contain a Moxy Hotel, office space and a ground floor restaurant. The top of the building will be crowned by a patio space that will house a bar with what is likely to be an amazing view of the surrounding areas and the Downtown skyline. For more information, visit www.800northhigh.com.
