This August, residents of The Exchange Urban Lofts will see a new restaurant open in the ground floor of their buildings. Rishi is the name of a new sushi bar concept from the owners of Moshi Sushi in Bexley.

“This is a new concept, separate from Moshi,” explained David Kim, Manager, Chef & Partner at Rishi. “We’re going to do sushi of course, but we want to do a new twist on it, along with fresh ramen noodles and gourmet asian burgers.”

Rishi will also feature a full bar with a focus on craft beer and specialty drinks. The restaurant venue at 114 North Third Street was formerly home to Fleur, a bar that opened in 2011 and closed late last year.

“We put in a whole new kitchen and we’re demolishing everything,” said Kim about the ongoing renovations. “The new restaurant will be warm but bright, with high energy, heigh ceilings and wood accents. Our goal is to keep it fun and energetic.”

The owners of Moshi Sushi had been been considered several different restaurant concepts, when the Downtown space became available. Kim said that the new residential development happening nearby was a draw for opening in that space, and that they look forward to complimenting the existing restaurants nearby on Gay Street for lunch and happy hour.

Rishi is slated to open sometime in August and will operate Monday through Saturday from 11am to 10pm.
