Short North’s Vamp Official is headed for a new address in the neighborhood, filling in the last retail spot in The Castle development at 969 N. High St.

Operated by Ellen Shirk, Vamp Official launched as an online store before opening its first brick-and-mortar at 997 N. High St. in 2017. From just under 1,000 square feet of space in their new digs, the women’s boutique will offer apparel and accessories inspired by trendy street wear and classic casual wear.

Expected to open by late fall of 2018, Vamp Official’s relocation makes the 8,000 square feet of ground-level retail space 100 percent leased.

The boutique will be joined by another neighborhood transplant, Penzone Salon + Spa. The 3,000 square foot space at 967 N. High St. signifies a new director for Charles Penzone, Inc. as the brand’s previous locations, including Max the Salon, unite under a new name. Oragetheory Fitness will also open its 12th location in the region in 3,800 square feet of space at 977 N. High St.

The building’s namesake White Castle opened earlier this summer in another 3,800 square foot space seating 50 and serving sliders 24 hours a day. As the fast food chain’s flagship restaurant, the Short North location offers beer and wine as well as an expanded menu of sliders.

Project developer Borror’s Urban Leasing office rounds out the building’s ground-floor retail space. The office serves as a centralized management location for Borror’s Short North and Downtown properties.
