Restaurants for Sale: Nosh, Rice Bowl, Clintonville Co-op and More

Businesses regularly change ownership and management, and restaurants are no exception. A restaurant for sale by no means indicates that it is closing — but when a restaurant is listed for sale, it means an opportunity has arisen for a new small business owner to step into a new venture. To that end, we occasionally publish lists of restaurants currently for sale, to not only give readers an idea of where change is occurring, but also to share information with potential buyers who are looking to start their own business venture here in Columbus.

Here are six restaurant and retail spaces newly listed for sale in Columbus:

Rice Bowl (South Side) – This large staple on the city’s south side is available for a whopping $895,000 — which sounds reasonable when you consider that it’s a 9,300 square foot space. The Rice Bowl first opened its doors in 1980, and continues to serve up traditional Chinese-American fare. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS

Nosh (Downtown) – This tiny Gay Street cafe and convenience store changed owners and names about a year ago, and is back on the market for $59,000. Co-owner Anita Keller confirmed with CU that they’re planning to sell the business to spend more time with family and are hoping to find a new owner excited for an opportunity Downtown. Clintonville Community Market (Clintonville) – While not currently a restaurant, the old Clintonville Co-op is available for redevelopment. “We are thinking it would be a great fit for someone to put a small, intimate bar or coffee shop — maybe something like The Market in Italian Village,” said NAI Ohio Equities Marketing Director Amy Karnes. The 4,250 square foot space is available for lease for $11/sqft. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS

Mya’s Fried Chicken (Food Truck) – Looking for a fully functional food truck? Mya’s Fried Chicken has their truck listed for sale for $49,000, which can be continued with proprietary recipes (included in the sale) or converted to a new concept. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS

AJ’s Cafe (Downtown) – This State Street cafe was listed for sale last summer for $59,000 and has been dropped in price to $39,000. The 2,400 square foot deli seats 30 with a patio on a prominently located corner just a block from the Statehouse. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS

Callander Cleaners (Short North) – Another renewed listing includes this 3,600 sqft dry cleaning business in the Short North that is prime for a restaurant conversion in the heart of the district. It was listed last year for rent for $30/sqft and is now listed at $31/sqft. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS

Additionally, several restaurant spaces listed last month continue to be marked as available for sale/lease, including:
