    Haiku Poetic Food & Art Turns 15

    Opened at their 800 North High Street location for 15 years, Haiku is celebrating this milestone with the community on Tuesday, June 4th with a grand gala. From 5pm-7pm, long-time and new patrons are encouraged to join Paul and Justin Liu and their extended Haiku family for live music on the patio, appetizers, and lots of neighborly love. On this day, Haiku will also be launching their official book packed with pictures and poems from the past 15 years.     Plantain Café Upgrades Their Patio

    The Plantain Café, the Cuban restaurant located at 77 East Gay Street, has updated their patio. When you visit the eatery, you’ll notice that the patio now has a sharp black awning covering the small space which comfortably seats 10. In addition, they’ve added to their Summer hours, staying open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays till 9pm instead of 8pm.     Luau with The Hills Market & Grass Skirt Tiki Room

    On Saturday, June 8th, Discovery District standouts Grass Skirt and The Hills Market will be pairing up for a Downtown Luau. Hawaiian Pork Sandwiches featuring Ohio’s Red Wattle Hogs and tropical fruit salad will be provided by The Hills; Grass Skirt will on hand to handle drinks, everything from Coconut Sangria to PBR. There will be live music (and yes, ukelele action is definitely on the docket) and a sand volleyball court for patrons to enjoy. The event is free to all, and will run from 11:30am-8pm.     Till Dynamic Fare Pops Up a Taqueria

    Beginning this June, Chef Magdiale and crew will be hosting pop-up restaurants in the Till Gallery and Tasting Room. On Monday, June 10th, the first of these pop-ups, a taqueria called Empuje La Ventana (Push the Window), will launch. Tacos Dorados, Clayudas and Made-to-Order Guacamole are just some of the dishes that will be featured. Empuje La Ventana will be open from 3pm-7pm, and again from 10pm to midnight on the day.     Deepwood Offers Three Courses for Gallery Hop

    For dinner at June’s Gallery Hop, scheduled for Saturday, June 1st, consider making reservations at Deepwood which will be offering a special three-course, $25 tasting menu. Diners can choose from a Shrimp Duo, Pork Perfect Nachos, and Vegetable Charcuterie  for the first course; Dry BBQ Rubbed & Smoked Brisket, Tomato Pasta, or Almond-Crusted Cod for the second.
