Columbus has so many new restaurants, expansions, menu updates and other changes, sometimes it’s hard to keep up with everything. That’s why our Restaurant Roundup series was designed to keep you informed with the latest and greatest updates. Here’s what’s new in the local dining scene:
Freedom a la Cart
Freedom a la Cart is a local catering company dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of human trafficking survivors, which it does through its workforce development program. For the holiday season, the survivors they serve will be baking Cause Cookies.
For every $25 donation, donors get a box of from-scratch assorted cookies, including coconut macaroons, gingersnaps, chocolate crinkles and holiday spice shortbread.
To place an order, visit freedomalacart.org/cause-cookies. Cookie orders can be picked up at 5000 Arlington Centre Blvd., but delivery is available for free for donations of over $100.
Donations support job training and free comprehensive supportive services to hundreds of human trafficking victims. A donation of $50 (two boxes) provides a month of supportive services for a survivor.
Simple Times
Columbus-based Simple Times Mixers has launched a subscription club dubbed “Cocktail of the Month.” Subscribers will get a seasonal 32-ounce mixer and an exclusive, members-only 16-ounce mixer. With the addition of alcohol, subscribers can make up to 15 cocktails each month.
There are month-to-month as well as three-, six- and 12-month subscriptions. The boxes start shipping in January 2019 and will ship on the 5th of every month after that.
