    Restaurant Roundup: News from Simply Rolled, Pecan Penny’s and more

    Columbus has so many new restaurants, expansions, menu updates and other changes, sometimes it’s hard to keep up with everything. That’s why our Restaurant Roundup series was designed to keep you informed with the latest and greatest updates. Here’s what’s new in the local dining scene:

    10 West Cafe

    Downtown Columbus has a new breakfast and lunch spot. 10 West Cafe has replaced Lola’s at the U.S. Bank building at 10 W. Broad St.

    Operating from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., 10 W. Cafe offers a menu of breakfast and lunch wraps, bagels, croissants and quesadillas, along with pizzas, salads, and paninis. Each item is prepared from scratch on-site, except for their desserts, which are sourced from the Suisse Shop at Polaris.

    House Beer/Bourbon & Barley Saloon

    The Short North’s House Beer has rebranded. Now the Bourbon & Barley Saloon, the bar has a new focus on bourbon and craft beer flights and cocktails. The drink menus include up to 12 classic and modern cocktails, 80 beers and 20 bourbons.

    Owner Tom Kincaid purchased House Beer in 2016, keeping the name primarily because it was recognizable to the neighborhood.

    “As the neighborhood is changing and growing, it felt like the right time to make it our own and offer something new,” Kincaid says. “Looking at trends in the beverage industry, more people are trending toward bourbon and liquor so we decided to add them to provide more creative options and enhance the beer selection we already had.”

    Bourbon & Barley Saloon will continue offering beer carry out. It opened under its new name on Oct. 6.

    Simply Rolled

    The rolled ice cream shop is opening its third Ohio location in Westerville. It’ll open this Sunday, Nov. 11 at 673 Worthington Rd.

    Simply Rolled offers a variety of base ice cream flavors that are shaped into rolls and topped with items like fruit, sauces, candies, etc. The shop had its debut in the Short North in 2017 and opened a second location in Cincinnati this summer.

    The Westerville location will have a grand opening celebration on Nov. 11 from 12 to 10 p.m. The first 50 customers there will get a free rolled ice cream of their choice. The next 25 customers will earn a free ice cream for their next visit.

    Once open, Simply Rolled Westerville will operate from 2 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 2 to 11 p.m. on Friday, 12 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, and 12 to 10 p.m. on Sunday.

    Pecan Penny’s

    Originally closed on Mondays, this Downtown barbecue restaurant is now open and serving up 50 cent smoked wings all day every Monday.

    Dunkin’ Donuts

    The first new Dunkin’ Donuts to open in Columbus in 10 years will open on Nov. 20. It’ll be located at 1220 Morse Rd. Those who show up to the ribbon-cutting ceremony that morning can get scarlet and gray donuts in spirit of the week’s OSU vs. Michigan game, as well as participate in a cornhole game with a prize earning the winner free coffee for a year.
