    Restaurant Roundup: News From Little Eater, Velvet Ice Cream, Fuzzy’s and more

    Columbus always has many new restaurants, expansions, menu updates and other changes, it’s sometimes hard to keep up with everything. That’s why our Restaurant Roundup series was designed to keep you informed with the latest and greatest updates. Here’s what’s new in the local dining scene:

    Little Eater

    Little Eater’s Clintonville restaurant is launching their new beer program tomorrow, along with a daily happy hour that includes $4 Ohio craft beers and a menu of shareable snacks. Called “Social Hours,” their happy hour menu will feature, everything bagel spiced pretzel bites with beer mustard, stuffed eggs with herb egg salad, a cheese plate with apples and house-made cherry jam, mini cheddar biscuits with honey butter and cranberry-chipotle compote, crudités with sweet potato hummus, and crostini.

    The Social Hours kick off on Friday, February 9 at 3 p.m. and will run every day (Tuesday through Sunday) from 3 to 6 p.m.

    Velvet Ice Cream

    The ice cream company announced this week that there will be seven new flavors to choose from come March, six in its premium line and one, Chocolate Peanut Butter, in its lineup of pints. On March 15, customers can get the 2016 Ohio State Fair flavor, Banana Cream Pie, along with Chocolate Chip, Kentucky Praline Pecan, Strawberry Cheesecake, Campfire S’mores and Salty Caramel.

    Crimson Cup

    The locally-founded company is continuing to grow, announcing market penetration to include 36 states, Guam and Bangladesh. Last year, Crimson Cup opened two company-owned stores and 20 more through its coffee shop franchise alternative program. Another international shop opened as well, in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

    Crimson Cup fans can now find their coffee in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

    Braxton Brewing Co.

    Cincinnati-based brewery Braxton Brewing Co. has, as of this week, expanded its distribution to Columbus. Along with its core styles, Columbusites are now able to find the company’s seasonal, limited releases and Braxton Labs beers as of Tuesday, February 6.

    Braxton Brewing Co. will run several events throughout Columbus, including a Meet the Brewery at the Daily Growler in Upper Arlington on Thursday, February 8; samplings at Gentile’s the Wine Sellers and Savor Growl on Friday, February 9; a tap takeover at the Pint Room on Friday, February 9; a tasting at Lucky’s Market on Saturday, February 10, and others.

    Cameron Mitchell Restaurants

    The locally-based restaurant group is celebrating Valentine’s Day in its own way this year, featuring dishes and cocktails at each restaurant that will be available on Wednesday, February 14 only.

    Participating locations include The Avenue Steak Tavern, The Barn at Rocky Fork Creek, Cameron’s American Bistro, Cap City Fine Diner & Bar, Hudson 29 (New Albany and Upper Arlington), M at Miranova, Marcella’s, Martini Modern Italian, Mitchell’s Ocean Club, Molly Woo’s, and The Pearl.

    Alternatively, CMR is also providing “Valentine’s Day in a Box,” a complete, partially-cooked four-course dinner for two, which includes instructions for finishing. Those interested should order by Friday, February 9.

    Fuzzy’s Taco Shop

    Fuzzy’s is adding a new item to their menu: Shrimp Dippers, a basket of crispy shrimp served with mango-habanero and honey-chipotle sauces for dipping. It’s available for a limited time though, and it’ll disappear on March 11.
