Columbus has so many new restaurants, expansions, menu updates and other changes, sometimes it’s hard to keep up with everything. That’s why our Restaurant Roundup series was designed to keep you informed with the latest and greatest updates. Here’s what’s new in the local dining scene:

Daily Growler

Short & Stout Kitchen has set up shop as Daily Growler Brewery District’s new permanent food operator. An operation that started as a mobile bar last year, Short & Stout replaces Big Mamma’s Burritos with scratch-made entrees for breakfast, brunch and dinner.

Expect burgers, fries, poutines and salads out of the Short & Stout Kitchen. They’ll start with breakfast and brunch seven days per week and dinner service Wednesday through Saturday. 

Short & Stout hopes to begin operating at Daily Growler in late April.

High Bank Distillery

New food and cocktail menus are dropping April 1 at High Bank Distillery. Look forward to more than 20 new food items, including a tuna bowl and BBQ chips and dill pickle dip. The cocktail menu will add a number of items, most notably a Pineapple Chili Margarita, made with pineapple arbor jam, bourbon barrel espolon, ancho reyes chili liquor, lime juice, and Mexican spiced rum. 

High Bank will also release its newest spirit, Whiskey War Barrel Proof. A blend of whiskeys crafted in small batches and aged over two years, Whiskey War Barrel Proof will be available starting Monday.

This spring, the distillery will take on new hours of operation, opening from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday, 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 12 a.m. Saturday, and 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday (Kitchen closes at 4 p.m.).

Combustion Brewery & Taproom

The Pickerington brewery is working on a full-blown patio expansion. Their new enclosed, partly-covered patio will feature more seating and picnic tables. A wrap around fence will double as a bar for standing patrons. A timeline has yet to be announced for the patio’s unveiling.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream

The Strawberry Jam, an annual food and music event in celebration of Ohio’s strawberry season, is back for its sixth iteration. 

Hosted at Land-Grant Brewing Company as a “low-key, picnic-style party,” Strawberry Jam will run from 12 to 10 p.m. on May 26. In addition to a truckload of fresh strawberries, guests can get an unlimited supply of Jeni’s Strawberry Buttermilk ice cream, along with beer, rosé, and local food. Family activities and live music will go all day.
