Restaurant Roundup: News From Bareburger, Piada, Oats & Barley, and Others

Columbus always has many new restaurants, expansions, menu updates and other changes, and sometimes hard to keep up with everything. That’s why our Restaurant Roundup series was designed to keep you informed with the latest and greatest updates. Here’s what’s new in the local dining scene:

    Your Pie

The first Ohio franchise of Georgia-born Your Pie opens this Friday, February 10. The down-the-line pizzeria offers their own signature pies as well as custom-made brick oven pizzas, paninis, salads, craft beer and wine and “artisan gelato.”

Franchise owners Katy and Matt Iwaszkiewicz came across the concept during a visit to Atlanta. Their store at The View, uniquely catering to their built-in customers residing in the apartments above, sits at 1011 W. Fifth Ave., Unit 106B.

    Oats & Barley Market

Oats & Barley Market is celebrating their half birthday this month. In commemoration, as their way of “giving back for the support we’ve received,” they’ll be donating 10 percent of their sales on February 25 to the Children’s Hunger Alliance.

That day will also start early, and the first 50 customers in the door will get a free tote bag. Throughout the day there will be a gift card promo, samples from local vendors, free beer tastings, and a wine reception.

    Bareburger

In an effort to give offices, parties and other large events a more cost-efficient way to get their food, Bareburger is launching a catering menu. Their menu is simple, with six sliders and sides. They offer the option of six or twelve sliders, bringing the cost per person to around $10 or $12.

For the months of February and March their catering orders will be 30 percent off.

    Piada Italian Street Food

Piada is “sharing” up to 7,000 cups of soup on February 13. Guests will be able to send one free soup to a friend, choosing between tomato basil and lobster bisque.

    Donatos

With the intent of making online ordering faster, Donatos launched their mobile iOS app last week.

Any phone that already has the Donatos iOS tile will change it automatically to the app, which is available on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Another app for Android should be launched this summer.

    Crimson Cup

Crimson Cup Coffee & Tea, responding to consumer demand, released a line of single-serve coffee cups meant to work like Keurig’s K-Cups. The Armando’s Blend, Direct Trade Honduras, Direct Trade Guatemalan, Jungle Love, Celtic Grog and Sticky Toffee Caramel are currently available, but based on demand that list is likely to grow.

The Crimson Cup Cups are available now for about $10 per box of 12, online and at certain stores, including Weiland’s Market, The Hills Market and Lucky’s Market in Columbus, Ross Granville Market, and Lovejoy’s Market in Plain City.
