Columbus always has many new restaurants, expansions, menu updates and other changes, it’s sometimes hard to keep up with everything. That’s why our Restaurant Roundup series was designed to keep you informed with the latest and greatest updates. Here’s what’s new in the local dining scene:
Hot Chicken Takeover
Columbus-born restaurant Hot Chicken Takeover is celebrating four years of business this Friday, April 6. Each of their locations (Easton, North Market, Clintonville) will be offering a $5 Drumstick Meal, which includes a side of Ma’s Mac and Ma’s Slaw. Waffles, which are usually only offered on Saturday and Sunday, will also be available on Friday.
“These last four years, the community has been tremendously supportive, so we wanted to do something special for them,” said Joe DeLoss, Hot Chicken Takeover Founder, in a press release. “This felt like an appropriate way to extend our gratitude.”
Each store will also have their own celebrations with balloons and cake.

Duck Donuts is putting a twist on their popular OBX Donut Breakfast Sandwich. Their new Spicy OBX Sandwich uses the same original recipe with the simple addition of Texas Pete hot sauce.
“Duck Donuts is always striving for innovative ways to add additional flavors and new varieties to our menu,” said Russ DiGilio, founder and CEO of Duck Donuts Franchising Company, in a press release. “Everyone loves bacon and donuts, and now for those who like spice, we’ve kicked it up a notch by adding hot sauce to the flavorful and unique donut breakfast sandwich.”
The new sandwich combines the guest’s choice of egg, cheese, and sausage or bacon, tops it with maple and chopped bacon, and finishes it off with hot sauce.
