    Restaurant Review: Michael O’Toole’s

Michael O’Toole’s has been on my must visit list for some time. A few days ago I stopped in for an order of Disco Fries and a Matilda, hungry after taking some downtown photos. They were mighty substantial and satisfying fries topped with mushroom gravy, aged cheddar, sour cream and scallions.

The visiting Volvo salesman from Sweden who sat next to me in the bar ordered one of their signature ribeyes and said it was fantastic. Both left me wanting more off their menu when time permits.

A banner outside advertises a $5 burger and beer on Clippers home game nights (4-7pm), which sounds like a great deal.

The GM was watching the bar that night, as the restaurant had brisk convention business. He was a gracious host and looked to be a good multitasker.
