    You must head east to reach Antibes, a beach resort on the French Riviera. But travel to the Short North to dine at L’Antibes and you’re taking a trip to yesterday—and one of the best restaurants in Columbus.

    Why yesterday? Well, though the venerable 14-year-old L’Antibes was recently taken over and overhauled by two highly accomplished chefs (the evening chef, Matt Litzinger, is the owner), it keeps its commitment to vintage L’Antibes favorites and, in general, to what was once called “nouvelle cuisine.”

    In other words, here you’re unlikely to find newfangled sliders or (somehow still) trendy tuna tartare. Instead, L’Antibes focuses its small menu on luxury proteins treated to excellent French techniques frequently expressed through intense, reduced sauces.
