If you’re already paying rent, then you’re probably paying the same amount in October that you did in September. But if you’re looking for a new apartment, then you might be pleased to know that the overall average rental rate has declined in Columbus over the course of the past month.
According to a new report from Abodo.com, the average rental rate in Columbus dropped from $951 per month to $887 per month — representing a 10 percent decrease. That runs counter to other similar reports where month rent spikes were as high as a 13 percent increase between June and July.
Cities that saw a similar drop include El Paso (-12 percent), Sacramento (-10 percent) and Long Beach California (-10 percent). Some cities saw a spike in rental rates, including Miami (+9 percent), Virginia Beach (+7 percent) and Milwaukee (+7 percent).
