    Rental Rates Drop 10 Percent in Columbus in Past Month

    If you’re already paying rent, then you’re probably paying the same amount in October that you did in September. But if you’re looking for a new apartment, then you might be pleased to know that the overall average rental rate has declined in Columbus over the course of the past month.

    According to a new report from Abodo.com, the average rental rate in Columbus dropped from $951 per month to $887 per month — representing a 10 percent decrease. That runs counter to other similar reports where month rent spikes were as high as a 13 percent increase between June and July.

    Cities that saw a similar drop include El Paso (-12 percent), Sacramento (-10 percent) and Long Beach California (-10 percent). Some cities saw a spike in rental rates, including Miami (+9 percent), Virginia Beach (+7 percent) and Milwaukee (+7 percent).
