If you love classic French cuisine updated with contemporary American elements, then you are a fan of The Refectory, the relaxed yet elegant establishment on Bethel Road that has long been a symbol of excellence, class and the delectable.

Chef Richard Blondin, a Paul Bocuse-trained master, is still at the top of his game, consistently turning out truly inspired fare with a flare as inimitable as it is time-honored. And the rest of the country has taken notice, rewarding both the elevated level of cuisine as well as the high quality of service synonymous with The Refectory.

The Zagat Guide, one of the country’s leading authorities on distinction and superiority, recently named the Columbus spot one of the Top 25 Restaurants for Service nationwide, rating it 28, 26, and 28 out of 30 in Food, Decor and Service respectfully. It was also noted that The Refectory has the highest service score in all of Columbus, a testament to their professional knowledge, experience, and staff.

In addition, AAA has also bestowed their coveted Four-Diamond Award to the restaurant once again, one of only ten restaurants in all of Ohio to receive the honor this year. Nationwide, only three percent of restaurants ever earn the Four-Diamond claim to fame, so this is no small accomplishment for this veteran eatery who has received the honor over fifteen times before, especially in a time when restaurants seem to he here one minute and gone the next.

Kamal Boulos, owner of The Refectory, is “humbled by this national recognition…[mentioning that] this acknowledgement for our service gives us an added incentive to provide each and every guest with the finest dining experience possible”. He credits his staff, those that have been with her a few months and those who have been a part of the family for years with understanding “that great service is a natural extension…of the heart”.

It’s no wonder then that The Refectory continues to be the most award-winning restaurant in Columbus, and from all indications, the best is still yet to come.
