Nocterra Brewing in Powell has found itself a permanent food truck. Ray Ray’s Hog Pit will open at 41 Depot St. four nights a week starting Saturday, May 16.

“I feel I can open this new location in good faith during the pandemic because the demand is there,” says Ray Ray’s Owner James Anderson. “Folks really want to eat something that is professionally cooked during this time. The demand is far higher than the supply for prepared foods during the pandemic, so I feel RayRays will be well received in Powell.”

The menu will be generally the same as Ray Ray’s three other Central Ohio locations, but James also hints that a new, permanent dish will be added to the menu. The sauce lineup will get a boost as well, with a custom barbecue sauce featuring Nocterra’s flagship beer, Beta Flash.

Ray Ray’s at Nocterra will be open from 11:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Setting up in the brewery’s outdoor beer garden, the truck will be accessible to Nocterra patrons and the general community.

The Powell spot marks the fourth Central Ohio location for Ray Ray’s. The barbecue joint also operates trucks behind Ace of Cups in Clintonville and at Land-Grant Brewing in Franklinton, and a walk-up window and drive-thru in Westerville.

Earlier this year Anderson gained national recognition as a James Beard Award Semifinalist for Best Chef: Great Lakes (IL, IN, MI, OH).
