Tonight, Boston R&B/rock band Bad Rabbits are doing double duty.  First, the band will host a meet and greet at The Renaissance, as participants of the hotel’s RLife series, as well as play an acoustic performance.  The second performance will take place at The Basement as a stop on their American Love Summer Tour.  Geri Lombard, the general manager of Columbus’ Renaissance location,  answered a few questions about their RLife series.

Briana Henry: Where did the idea come from to host artists before performances?

Geri Lombard: We were solicited by Bad Rabbits and our corporate team who arrange concert series with performers directly. Bad Rabbits has done this with other hotels and guests have enjoyed it.  [It’s] just another way to add value to our guests.

BH: What exactly is the RLife LIVE concert series?

GL: RLife LIVE brings music and entertainment to our hotels around the world. It is a Renaissance brand platform we engage in to promote emerging artists and unique events.

BH: Tonight Bad Rabbits are playing at The Basement, what other artists are you planning to have participate in these events?

GL: These Rlife events typically come up on a case-by-case basis as different groups are touring, so things happen more “organically” but they are a fun experience for our guests and patrons of Bar 41 and Latitude 41. We’ve had other up-and-coming artists such as Lenka from Australia and our guests really enjoy having this behind-the-scenes access.

BH: What will happen during the meet and greet? Is it only an opportunity to meet the bands or are there any small performances planned as well?

GL: Bad Rabbits is playing an acoustic set in the bar from 7-9 pm. In between songs they will be mingling and chatting with our guests.

If unable to attend their acoustic set at The Renaissance, which begins at 7, catch them tonight at The Basement with Air Dubai and Sahtyre.
