Preston’s Burger Pop-up Relocating to Woodlands Backyard

Brewery District pop-up restaurant Preston’s: A Burger Joint has found a new home in Woodlands Backyard. Originally launching last July as Ambrose & Eve, the pop-up has since rebranded as Preston’s and will leave its current home at Three Sheets on Monday, April 9. Preston’s will open again at Woodlands Backyard later in April.

According to a press release, the new location in Grandview Heights provides more of a restaurant environment with better access for guests. Ultimately, co-owners and chefs Matt Heaggans and Catie Randazzo want Preston’s to multiply, and they’re aiming for a restaurant model that’s “easily replicated and scalable with the potential for growth.”

“We want to be Columbus’ In-N-Out, Columbus’ Shake Shack,” Heaggans said in the release.

Currently, Preston’s offers a menu of “munches and mains,” including jalapeño poppers, potato skins, a hot chicken sandwich, wings, and, among other items, their popular signature burger. It’s made using beef sourced from the Butcher & Grocer, American cheese, pickles, red onion, iceberg lettuce and a special sauce. A new item will also be added: a barbecue pork belly sandwich with braised pork, Cherry Coke barbecue sauce, red onion and pickles.

Woodlands Backyard is located at 668 Grandview Ave. and offers a variety of activities, including sand volleyball, mini bowling, pool tables and arcade games. Its sister business, Woodlands Tavern, hosts Randazzo’s own pop-up restaurant Challah!.

Heaggans and Randazzo are working on another concept jointly, announced last year. Ambrose & Eve, a full service restaurant serving a seasonal, rotating menu, will open in July at 716 S. High St.
