Pre-Leasing Begins for Atlas Building Apartments
Floorplans and pricing have been released for the latest addition to the downtown apartment market; 98 units in the historic Atlas Building at the corner of North High and East Long streets. Developer Schiff Capital Group has been working on renovating the building, which most recently held offices, since last spring.
The units will range in price from $975 for a studio to $2,200 for the priciest two-bedroom unit. In all, the project features ten studios, 65 one-bedrooms and 23 two-bedroom apartments. Amenities include the standard granite countertops and in-unit laundry facilities, as well as a few highlights not often found in new-build projects; original marble floors, 11-foot ceilings and a lobby featuring an ornate ceiling and grand marble staircase.
Joel Lilly of Schiff Capital Group said that they are bullish on the downtown residential market.
“I’m excited we are in a position with our Atlas Apartments project to play a part in meeting the demand,” he said. “We’ve had over 250 prospects that have contacted us in the last 60 days alone… I’m really looking forward to later this year when the Atlas restoration is complete and the first tenants can move in.”
The project also includes about 6,500 square feet of street-level retail, divided into four storefronts. No announcements have been made about future tenants for the spots. Principal Michael Schiff, in a recent interview with Columbus Underground, emphasized the importance of the retail component of the project.
