During this exciting Bicentennial year, Finding Time: ColumbusPublicArt2012 has been changing the look and experience of downtown Columbus. Chime compositions, a “breathing” building, a bus to the future, fantastic towers, a monumental drawing are among the works that continue to highlight the innovative arts culture of our community. The Columbus Foundation, a proud supporter of Finding Time, caught up with director Malcolm Cochran this week for a brief update on what’s still to come:
During the recent forum on public art at the Columbus Museum of Art (CMA), Derek DiCenzo and Dave DeWitt provided live musical accompaniment for this exciting new overview video:
The video was shot and edited by Jeff Sims of CMA, with additional footage from The Columbus Foundation and Keida Mascaro.
“Many cakes have been cut this year in honor of the 200th birthday of Columbus. As part of the celebration of all that makes Columbus great, Finding Time aims to demonstrate that art in the public realm is more than icing on the cake — it is part of the cake of lively and livable places,” Cochran noted.
Contributions are still being sought in order to realize all of the Finding Time: ColumbusPublicArt2012 projects. Visit www.columbuspublicart.com to learn more.
