Airport officials on Tuesday rolled out the latest phase of the multimillion-dollar project, including a crossover taxiway and a “cell phone lot” for those waiting to pick up passengers. The 50-space lot, next to a McDonald’s, is the last piece of a $9.3 million roadwork project, much of which was opened to drivers in May. Drivers heading in and out of Port Columbus have been traveling on International Gateway underneath the taxiway since then, but construction on that $38.1 million project didn’t wrap until recently.
