One of the oldest galleries in the Short North is closing its doors after 38 years.

PM Gallery, one of two galleries that started Gallery Hop, recently announced it will close its brick-and-mortar location at 1190 N. High St. The gallery has represented hundreds of local and national artists over the years.

“A combination of economic challenges, neighborhood changes and personal issues combined to make this the best time for us to retire,” says owner Maria Galloway of the decision. “We have loved our time here, making a difference in the neighborhood and in the city. We will miss that challenge, but hope to start a new chapter, shaking it up in the Long South.”

PM Gallery anticipates a relocation to Florida, and transitioning to an online-only business. As for now, the gallery has begun a retirement sale, running through the end of June.
