Thursday night was party night at the A&R Music Bar. Wilson’s “How To Be A Baller” tour saw four bands take to the stage to rock out, jump around, and beat up their instruments (and each other) in an over-the-top celebration of loud noises and bad attitudes.
First up were Dayton’s overwhelmingly tattooed five-piece, The Nightbeast, who filled their breathlessly short set with back to back fun-moshing party rock.
Columbus’ favorite slut-rockers Cadaver Dogs were next up. As always, the two-piece delivered, as a beer soaked Lex Vegas assaulted his drums while gruff frontman Mathew Franklin provided the blues-driven noises and leg stretches. Simple. Noisy. Brilliantly enjoyable.
Rapper Hyro The Hero was next up to provide an intense set of metal-rap. Hyro and his three piece band jumped and knocked each other around the stage amongst a mess of tangled wires and spilled beer.
Fronted by the dazzlingly dressed Chad Nicefield, headliners Wilson brought the back-to-basics rock-packed evening to a close with another set full of let’s-just-have-a-party guitar-fueled alt-rock.
