    Photos: USMNT vs. El Salvador

Columbus once again became the home of U.S. soccer on Thursday evening as the United States men’s national team took another step towards Qatar with a 1-0 win over El Salvador at Lower.com Field in front of a sold-out crowd.

The USMNT currently boast a 5-3-1 record in the race for Wold Cup 2022 qualifications, but the Americans were far from convincing against an El Salvador team that put up a good fight but never looked likely to score. Antonee Robinson grabbed the lone goal of the game in the 52nd minute with a well-taken strike from inside the El Salvador box. The result leaves the U.S. in the second spot in qualifying, but will be looking to leapfrog to the top with games against Canada and Honduras coming up in the next week.
