Olympia, Washington’s fiery, cult-punk band Sleater-Kinney rocked through Columbus on Friday night with a fierce and powerful set of chainsaw-buzz guitars and passionate vocals, delivered in style to a packed Newport Music Hall.

Comprised of the twin guitar/vocal attack from Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker, Sleater-Kinney pulled out a breathless set of over twenty songs taken from the bands deep back catalog, including explosive opening track “The Center Won’t Hold,” from the band’s current release of the same name.

Columbus’ hotly tipped for greatness indie-rock band Snarls provided support.
