Photos: Royal Blood and Queens of the Stone Age at Express Live!

Two current heavy-weights of the modern alt-music world popped in to Express Live! on an unpleasantly wet Tuesday evening for a night of good old fashioned heart-pounding guitar rock.

Royal Blood’s second album “How Did We Get So Dark?” went to number one in the UK shortly after the Brighton two-piece last came to Columbus and again they justified their continued rise to greatness as the stripped down hard-rock duo played another massive set that was better than many headliners can produce.

Queens of the Stone Age are back with a recently released new album in the form of “Villains” and are just beginning their world tour with Tuesday’s stop in Columbus.

The California five-piece opened with fan favourite, ‘Go With The Flow’ which set the tone as Josh Homme and company delivered a set of heavy hitting tunes that did not disappoint the rain drenched crowd.
