Otherworld, the immersive art experience set to call Columbus home, is gearing up for a soft opening in the coming months. As nearly 40 rooms and scenes come together, presale ticket holders will have the opportunity to get a first look before an official grand opening is set for late April or early May.

Columbus Underground toured the work that has been done so far, including rooms surrounded by light beams and reflective floors, interactive light orbs and projective screens, mini-murals, and as promised, a 20-foot tall tree and cave.

The “eyeballs” inside this cave will eventually be projected to follow the movement of visitors that pass by.

There are two different story arcs to Otherworld, says creative director Jordan Renda. As visitors move through scenes and uncover Otherworld’s dystopian backstory, they will uncover symbols used to unlock different rooms.

Visitors can climb into the mouth of this creature, in a room inspired by the show Adventure Time.
A sepia-shrouded room with stained glass windows will become increasingly colorful and cheery once a casket is opened.
This arcade installation is inspired by retro games like “Space Invaders” and “Asteroids.”
One of the more Instagrammable rooms in Otherworld features beams of lights surrounded by mirrors and reflective floors. This room, and many others, will be synced with sounds ranging from atmospheric to vaporwave-like.

Visitors will have the ability to touch orbs that will change the color of the 20-foot tall tree. Behind the tree is a tower set to be covered in thousands of LED lights, and in the center will be a device that, once a hand is placed over it, will change the color of the entire tower.

The jewels projected in this room can be shattered once touched.
