Photos: Columbus Crew SC vs. Chicago Fire
Columbus Crew SC’s slim play off hopes took a major knock on Saturday night as a last minute equalizer saw points dropped to Eastern rivals Chicago Fire, as the game ended 1-1 at MAPFRE Stadium.
Pedro Santos gave the home side the lead midway through the first half with a driven shot that beat Chicago ‘keeper Kenneth Kronholm.
Chicago rescued a point deep into injury time when winger Przemslaw Frankowski slotted home the ball to deny Crew SC the win.
While it’s still mathematically possibly to make the play-offs, it’s going to take four wins from the remaining four games and a lot of help from the other teams around the league.
Next up, on the road in Atlanta on September 14.
