The season of giving continued to overload our worn down senses
on Friday night. Local mainstream rock station The Blitz brought a
handful of bands to the Express Live! stage to festively yell at
microphones and beat-up instruments to a packed crowd. The
blitz-nation ended the year with headbanging and devil-horns for this
year’s Blitzmas 2018.
Featured on this year’s bill were The Dirty Nil, modern rockers Wayland,
and Lincoln Park-influenced rap rockers, From Ashes to New.
The evening’s headline act came from Blitzmas and rock-radio veterans
Pop Evil, who once again delivered a red-hot set of post-grunge
alt-metal. Vocalist Leigh Kakaty and friends pulled out a set littered
with past hits, including the recent chart-topping single “Waking Lions.”
