London-based indie pop band Bastille returned to Columbus on Sunday evening as Dan Smith and company lit up the EXPRESS LIVE! outdoor stage.

Due to the storms and rain delays, I sadly wasn’t able to catch openers Joywave, but I did arrive in time to see Smith and friends work the crowd up to a frenzy with the sing-and-dance-along synth-pop that they’ve been pumping out for almost ten years as radio hits “Quarter Past Midnight,” “Happier” and closer “Pompeii” were screamed back at the band by a hugely energetic crowd.

Bastille are currently out touring their third album, Doom Days.
