The new PENZONE Salon + Spa opened its doors in the Short North on Tuesday, Dec. 11. Located at 967 N. High St., the salon joins White Castle and Orangetheory Fitness as tenants of the new Castle development.
Formerly known as MAX THE SALON, PENZONE Salon + Spa is part of an urbanized rebrand of salons under Charles Penzone. Each salon, including MAX, Grand Salons, and the recently launched location in Dublin, operates under the new PENZONE Salon + Spa moniker.
PENZONE has a number of unique features, including a bar stocked with Crimson Cup coffee, along with beer, wine and craft cocktails. They’ve partnered with & Juice Co. as well to stock a grab-and-go fridge full of organic food and cold pressed juices. It’s all available in their social room, which offers some soft seating and a television.
The spa itself has about a dozen hair stations, two spa rooms, and a dedicated “Beauty Zone” where people can get blow outs, facials and other skincare in a group setting. They offer full hair, skin, makeup and nail services, along with aromatherapy, ayurveda and oil massages, and bridal packages.
“We really tried to step it up in our spa down here,” says Debbie Penzone, president & CEO of Charles Penzone, Inc. “We just launched the original up in Dublin in May, and I told the team, ‘we got to go down there where all of this exciting energy and innovation is happening right now in this city, and that’s in the Short North, Italian Village, Victorian Village — the Downtown area. We’re ready to bring this concept here.’”
PENZONE Salon + Spa in Dublin was recently chosen as a finalist in the North American Hairstyling Awards’ competition determining the “most aesthetically pleasing and well-designed” salon in North America. The winner will be chosen in January.
PENZONE is open daily, operating from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
