The Graceland Shopping Center will see the addition of a new restaurant destination when Pat & Gracie’s Kitchen and Tavern opens this spring. The new restaurant is a collaborative venture between Craig Chapman, Matt Rootes and Tony Wildman, who collectively have over 50 years of experience within the restaurant and bar industries.
The restaurant’s concept will be casual in nature, with a focus a bar-centric food menu and a variety of craft beers. Specialities include hand-made burgers, fresh-cut fries, made-from-scratch mozzarella sticks and a fish and chips platter.
Rootes said that the concept and vibe of Pat & Gracie’s could be considered similar to Press Grill, Old Towne Tavern or Club 185, which is said is lacking in the northern Clintonville and Beechwold areas. The restaurant will be open for dinner service, late-night service and weekend brunches.
“There’s Bob’s Bar, which is really popular, so we decided that would be a good area for us,” he explained. “We’re going to go our version of pub fare, but with everything fresh and nothing frozen.”
The 1,800 square foot restaurant will replace a former Orange Leaf frozen yogurt shop at 138 Graceland Boulevard, and is expected to open sometime in late spring, pending the completion of construction, inspections and permitting. Once open, Root said that Pat & Gracie’s will operate from 3pm to Midnight on Mondays through Fridays, 11am to 1pm on Saturdays and 11am to midnight on Sundays.
