Our Mutual Friend: Peletonia Benefit at Park Street Patio

We share music with one another for a myriad of reasons; It can bring a tear to the eye, a dozen goosebumps down your spine or surface a memory you haven’t accessed in some time. There is special significance in a lyric, a melody or the instrumental backbone of the piece, resonating in a specific way with each listener.
John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr have mastered this relationship with their listeners, changing their world of music in such an eloquent, modest and extensive way. There will always be a continuous celebration of The Beatles, something I witness on a daily basis. Without hesitation, the entire LC Pavilion will serenade each other in “Come Together” when the sounds of “shooop” echo from the loud speaker. There’s never not a reason to celebrate the men who celebrated sharing music with the world.
Although, I may just have an even grander and more improved way to celebrate The Beatles and their legendary records– all while drinking, dancing and benefiting the greater common good.
Two of Columbus’ local musicians are passionately fighting cancer, emphasizing the vision of peace, positivity and support. With Columbus’s Peletonia Bike Race in near sight, Peletonia and its supporters will and continue to achieve their ultimate goal. A goal we all wish and desperately seek to find– a cure for cancer. Local two-piece Columbus band, Our Mutual Friend, will be hosting a Beatles cover event Saturday, July 26th at Park Street Patio, called “A Ticket to Ride.”
