The new merchants put the total number of vendors at 15, with a few additions yet to be announced. In total, North Market Bridge Park, 6750 Longshore St., will house 19 purveyors.

The new lineup will see two established local businesses join the Market world, one Market expansion and a brick-and-mortar first.

    Bake Me Happy

North Market Bridge Park will be the second retail location for Bake Me Happy. The gluten-free bakery will bring its Oatmeal Creme Clouds, PopTarts, King Dongs, Zebra Cakes, Spicy Peanut Butter cookies, specialty scones and more to Dublin. The perfect pairing to a sweet treat, Bake Me Happy’s market location will feature drip and whole bean coffee from roasters across the city, as well as a unique cold brew menu with flavors like Strawberry Nesquik and Lavender.

“Letha and I are excited to join the North Market family in Dublin, so we can expand our reach to our fans up North,” said Owner Wendy Miller Pugh. “We believe that Bridge Park will be a perfect second location for us with a fast grab and go set up, so you can get your gluten free goodness fix seven days a week!”

During the pandemic, Bake Me Happy has added a gluten-free bodega to its Merion Village location at 106 E. Moler St.

    BREaD Bakery + Café

Micro-bakery Fromagerie will set up its first brick-and-mortar at North Market Bridge Park. In 2017 Owner Kim Hendrix started baking breads focused on yeasted and sourdough varieties using slow fermentation methods. The new shop operating under the name BREaD Bakery + CafĂ© will offer the baker’s core breads and more, spanning the savory – French baguettes, ciabattas, a range of sourdough loaves, cheesy loaves, and cheesy baked snacks – to sweet items and new, ready-to-eat items such as baguette sandwiches, tartines and savory croissants. Coffee and tea will round out the menu.

“What a thrill it is to join the North Market Bridge Park to showcase the breads & baked goods component of our business!” said Hendrix. “Fromagerie has joyfully distributed artisan loaves at area farmers markets for the past three years. Our market customers know we are passionate about serving our community freshly baked, wholesome and delicious-tasting baked goods. Our new Fromagerie BREaD Bakery + CafĂ© is the perfect place to extend our reach, our product line, and delight North Market Bridge Park shoppers every day.”

    Hoyo’s Sambusas & Juices

North Market Downtown vendor Hoyo’s Kitchen will expand to Bridge Park with a new concept. As the name implies, Hoyo’s Sambusas & Juices will focus on the East African version of a fried and filled pastry that is seen in cuisines around the world. Sambusas, while similar to samosas, are hallmarked by their thin, chewy dough wrapped around a traditionally savory filling.

“We at Hoyo’s Kitchen are really excited about bringing our Sambusas and Juices concept to Bridge Park and introducing it to the wider Dublin community,” said Owner Mohamed Hassan. “Having a stand alone Sambusa and Juice shop has been a lifelong dream of ours, and to take this next step with our partners at North Market is a perfect match.”

Hoyo’s Kitchen also operates its fast-casual Somali restaurant at 5788 Columbus Square.

    The Pit BBQ Grille

The Pit BBQ Grille continues its 2020 expansion with a new spot at North Market Bridge Park. Four friends first established their BBQ joint in 2016 on Cleveland Avenue and followed it up with a food truck in 2017. 2020 brought an expansion to the South Side at 1542 Parsons Ave and a location that’s in the works in Clintonville at 4219 N. High St.

They’ll be slinging their signature dishes at North Market, like the Polish Boy, a deep fried beef Polish sausage topped with fresh cut fries, Pit slaw and BBQ sauce, the Pit Bowl, a brioche bun topped with a diner’s choice of meat, mac & cheese, Pit slaw and BBQ sauce, and more.

“North Market has been a staple in Columbus for many years and we are excited to be a part of the expansion into the Bridge Park community,” said Owner Bryant Browning. “We feel in these uncharted and tense times, our food has the tendency to make people feel relaxed, at ease and gives the customer a chance to reminisce about a special moment in time when things were easier. Whether it was a family picnic, backyard BBQ or a gathering with friends on a lazy afternoon, our charcoaled grilled/smoked meats, fresh homemade sides and sauce never lets our customers down. We are excited to bring our family recipes to the Dublin market and serve the people!”

A limited number of merchants are expected to open initially, with occupancy to increase in phases. The Bridge Park lineup has seen some changes over the last several months as some vendors chose to pull back from plans in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Dough Mama dropped its plans for North Market, instead opting to open their own stand alone location in the Brewery District. Momo Ghar, Flowers & Bread and The Dublin Farmer’s Daughter have also opted not to join the Market.
