PAI Yoga Fitness Celebrates 7 Years With Free Yoga

“No way!” said PAI Yoga Fitness owner Chan Hemintranont when I asked her if she ever imagined in 2010 that she would now own two thriving fitness studios.

“NO way … and to celebrate, we will offer free yoga for our anniversary.”

Seven years ago on July 17, PAI Yoga Fitness opened in Dublin, OH at the Trader Joe’s Center on Sawmill and 161. From the beginning, PAI had not only well-taught yoga classes, but also spinning and TRX classes. In 2014, they added barre. Then in 2015, Hemintranont and her business partner Mike Ludwig opened a second PAI in Gahanna/New Albany at 5576 N. Hamilton Rd.

In 2010, Hemintranout left a well-salaried career to open PAI. She was inspired by the village of Pai, Thailand which she had visited.

“People there were so happy even though they didn’t have much of anything then,” she said.

Hemintranout’s yoga classes are full not only of her sunny personality, but also a deep-rooted belief in making the world more peaceful one body at a time. She has attracted many excellent teachers to PAI including Kara Lough who does an awesome Power Rise & Shine at 5:30 a.m. in Dublin. Amanda Smith, Lynn Ison, and crew do ab-shredding, bun-burning TRX and spinning classes. Newcomer Sara Goff -who learned yoga amongst Broadway stars at Sonic in midtown Manhattan- does solid Slow Flow yoga and leads monthly Wild Women Circles during the new moon. Many of the teachers such as Lough, Carrie Ingham, Erin Shipley, Richard Green and Regina Jacinto have been with PAI for years.

Besides the excellent personnel and equipment at the studios, PAI also offers classes outdoors. This summer there are SUP (stand up paddle board) events, as well as yoga classes at the organic Jorgensen Farms in Westerville. There are also winter retreats into the Hocking Hills.

Columbus has seen yoga studios open then close. Longevity is something to celebrate.

“We really thank our customers,” says Hemintranout.

On Monday July 17, 2017 all classes are free at both PAI locations. Also, there will be a PAI 7th anniversary party with private shopping and a henna artist at lululemon Easton on July 16 from 5 – 7 p.m.

PAI Yoga and Fitness located at 5576 N. Hamilton Rd.
