The Columbus Crew may have lost tonight’s match against the New York Red Bulls, but the two-game aggregate score of 2-1 secured their spot at the top of the Eastern Conference for the 2015 season.
The Black and Gold will not only advance to the MLS Championship Match next Sunday, December 6th… they’ll also be hosting it here on their home turf. This will be the first time The Crew has fought for the championship title on their home turf, and the second time the MLS Championship has been hosted in Columbus.
The championship game will take place against the Portland Timbers FC, who won out over FC Dallas in the Western Conference semi-finals.
