Boston Stoker Coffee Co. is celebrating 50 years of business this September. While coffee is at the heart of the current operations the company entered into business as a specialty pipe & tobacco shop in 1973 with their first location in Englewood, Ohio. Founders Don & Sally Dean have always held their customers as the focus of their business, often customizing requested tobacco blends and keeping them on file for future reference. As the Deans worked to grow their customer base, they began serving coffee as a free service to their patrons with hopes of creating a welcoming environment to stay and enjoy. Before long customers began requesting to purchase the beans directly and the Deans followed the demand. In 1983, Don took a big step forward and bought a Probat coffee roaster, roasting 5 kilos at a time. He installed it in the store to be visible to his customers. From the very beginning, the focus was on the freshness and quality of coffee being produced. As a charter member of the Specialty Coffee Association of America, Boston Stoker Coffee Co. is proud to be consistently adapting and changing along with the ever-evolving coffee industry.
Boston Stoker is incredibly excited to be able to celebrate their anniversary year with the release of a new Vintage Collection of coffees. The Vintage Collection is a rare and exclusive opportunity to experience some of the most sought-after micro lots of coffee from around the world. Each lot has been preserved immediately upon arrival from origin, frozen in vacuum sealed bags to maintain the freshness and rich natural flavors of the beans. These limited release coffees are a time capsule showcasing that year’s flavor profiles created by the climate, processing, and varietal produced by some of the most exclusive farms in the world.
The Vintage Collection releases will only be roasted once and will be sold on a first come first served basis in very limited quantities. The entire collection will be available via an online presale the weekend of September 22-24th.
