Columbus will celebrate the grand opening of its second Shake Shack in less than a year. The Short North Shake Shack opens its doors on Wednesday, September 4 at 11 a.m.

Located at 740 N. High St. on the ground floor of the Graduate Hotel, the Short North location will serve up the chain’s signature menu of 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers, chicken sandwiches and griddled flat-top dogs, fresh-made frozen custard, crispy crinkle cut fries and more.

Three unique frozen custard concretes will be available at the Short North location, with two featuring locally-sourced treats from Fox in the Snow. Concretes include:

  • Berry Blender – Vanilla custard, strawberry purée, shortbread cookie, rainbow sprinkles
  • Brownie Points – Vanilla custard, salted caramel sauce, Fox in the Snow Cafe salted caramel chocolate brownie, chocolate toffee
  • Pie Oh My – Vanilla custard blended with pieces of Fox in the Snow Cafe seasonal pie

The Short North Shack will donate 5% of sales from the Pie Oh My concrete to Columbus Gives Back, a nonprofit organization providing social volunteer and philanthropic opportunities across the Central Ohio community.

Beer and wine will be available, too. Cincinnati-based Taft Brewing Co., which is opening its first Columbus location at Gravity in Franklinton later this year, will supply the beer, along with Shake Shack’s exclusive Brooklyn Brewery ShackMeister® Ale. The burger joint also has its own Shack Red and Shack White wines from the Gotham Project.

Shake Shack Short North features an outdoor patio. The hotel building also serves as the canvas for some of the tallest public art murals in the city. Three new permanent murals feature a hummingbird, mythological figures and Hodan Mohammed, founder of the Columbus Somali Festival.

Opened in New York City in 2004, Shake Shack has grown to more than 230 locations across the U.S., amassing a cult-like following with its expansion. Shake Shack’s first Central Ohio location opened earlier this year in May at Easton.

Shake Shack opens at 740 N. High St. at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4. The first 100 customers will get Shake Shack swag from locally-based Lamp Apparel.
