Ohio Renewable Energy Scorecard – Sept 2009

The Ohio Renewable Energy Scorecard reports the status of renewable energy for electricity production in Ohio. The latest numbers show that we are lagging in alternative energy production. The national average for electricity produced from renewable sources is around seven percent, while Ohio currently generates only one percent. Ohio ranks poorly according to several of the scorecard’s criteria, however, we may gain ground in the next few years, particularly from a large planned increase in wind turbine implementation.
