The Ohio Craft Brewers Association (OCBA) has announced Mary Martineau as its first ever Executive Director. Martineau will serve the organization in the promotion of craft beer in Ohio and will work with local breweries, governmental bodies and other related organization to further advance the industry state-wide.
“I am thrilled to be chosen as the first Executive Director of the Ohio Craft Brewers Association,” said Martineau. “I have a passion for championing and promoting small, local businesses and I am excited to represent the craft brewers of the great state of Ohio on local, regional and national platforms.”
Martineau has previously served as the Executive Director of the Short North Business Association and most recently has served as the Director of Marketing of the North Market for the past eight years, where she founded the annual Columbus Microbrew Festival.
“The growth of craft beer in Ohio has been explosive over the past couple of years and as our businesses have grown, so has the need for our association,” said Eric Bean, president of the OCBA. “Hiring an Executive Director is a natural next step in our evolution.”
Ohio’s craft beer industry has grown rapidly over the past few years to now include over 70 breweries, including over a dozen in the Columbus region. The OCBA is a nonprofit organization that was established in 2008 and now serves over 30 members.
Martineau is expected to begin the new position on September 3rd.
