Office Leasing Team Selected for Millennial Tower

Arshot Investment Corporation announced today that Colliers International has been selected to lease the office portion of Millennial Tower, the first sign of life for the project since it was first announced in May of last year.

After an initial hearing before the Downtown Commission, the project has not been back before the board, leading to speculation about its future. Today’s announcement seems to confirm that it is still an active project, and that efforts to lease 157,000 share feet of office space in the proposed building are underway.

Other details, and visuals accompanying the press release, indicate that the design of the building has not been changed, although it is now described as a 24-story tower (last year’s proposal was for 25 stories). In addition to the office space, plans call for 40,000 square feet of retail, 138 residential units, and enough structured parking to accommodate 674 cars.

“The team at Colliers is excited to take on what is sure to be one of the most significant developments that the city of Columbus has ever seen” said Daniel Dunsmoor, Senior Vice President and Principal at Colliers International, in a statement. “In addition to appeal from companies with existing operations in Central Ohio, the leasing team will be utilizing Colliers International’s global reach to identify tenants interested in taking advantage of all that Millennial Tower stands to offer.”

Daniel Thomas, the city’s Urban Design Manager who administers the Downtown Commission, said that he has not received a new submission for the project. Concerns expressed by the commission last year about the project largely centered around its most prominent feature, a multi-story LED screen wrapping around all sides of the building.
