Today, Mike Kast, owner and founder of Curds & Whey in the North Market announced his plans to retire and close the business. The last day will be September 12th.
“What an exciting 28 year run it’s been,” said Mike Kast, owner and founder of Curds and Whey, in a statement. “I started the business in the less than perfect Quonset Hut, which was then considered an up and coming neighborhood. Now, the market is alive and vibrant in one of the hottest neighborhoods in the state.”
In keeping with the ‘best in class’ theme of the North Market, proposals are being reviewed to fill the space for fine cheeses, caviar, truffles, and specialty groceries.
The North Market recently added the Sip and Stroll, allowing visitors to enjoy an adult beverage purchases at Barrel and Bottle throughout the building and porch.
