New Yoga Studio Opens in Victorian Village

“This is to be a center not only for yoga, but also for meditation and many other wellness offerings,” says Sipra Pimputkar, yoga and mediation teacher in Columbus, Ohio since the 1990s and owner of Yoga-Well-Being. “This space will be a wonderful place for the community.”

After being in Grandview since 2011, Yoga-Well-Being is moving and re-opening inside the historic church at the corner of Neil and Fourth Avenues in Victorian Village. Yoga-Well-Being will have a set of completely renovated rooms at 296 W. Fourth Ave. for yoga, mediation and many other activities.

“We have always offered an intimate space for quieting the mind and maintaining a health body,” says Pimpkatur.

In addition to its yoga classes, Yoga-Well-Being offers private instruction, Reiki, life Coaching (sadhana), workshops on nutrition, healing foods and spices, and regular gatherings to create camaraderie and friendships through arts and crafts, music and dance. It also provides service to the community (seva) and holds community gatherings “for just snacking and watching a movie together with new friends and old acquaintances.”

With the additional space at Neil and Fourth, Yoga-Well-Being will be able to offer a wider variety of yoga, meditation, and other wellness classes and services.

“We hope to add some community-building events on a regular basis,” says Pimputkar. “The Meditation Room will be open for the community, where they can come in during open hours, we will start out with somewhat limited hours, and enjoy the room in silence. We want to do other community-minded things also as we get comfortable in the space. We hope to rent out rooms to other wellness therapists by the hour, week or month, too, and we are looking for well-reputed therapists of all kinds seeking a quiet uninterrupted space to follow their intellectual pursuits. We may also rent the studio space for local events such as dance, music, rehearsals, and meetings at times we are not using it for classes.”

Yoga-Well-Being begins classes on October 1, and for a limited time, there will be a 10 class pass for $50 (a $110 value!) using promo code is DH10. The deal doesn’t have an expiration date, but must be used in three months from date of first class at Yoga Well-Being.

Pimputkar is planning a Grand Opening celebration on Saturday, October 27 from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. Parking is available in a lot off Neil Avenue or there is ample street parking. Attendees may participate in free demo classes and enjoy snacks, door prizes, and learn more about what makes Yoga-Well-Being and intimate and unique studio.
